Must a fallen window be reported to BCA?
If someone is injured or killed, or a dislodged window damages other property, yes. Since 1 October 2025, the Building Control (Reportable Matters) Regulations 2025 require the person responsible to notify BCA within 6 hours of becoming aware of, or reasonably suspecting, such an incident. Reports can be made by phone or in writing on BCA's form. Failing to report without reasonable excuse can lead to a fine of up to S$20,000, 12 months' jail, or both.
