How long does a commercial office fit-out take in Singapore?
It depends on size, complexity and the building, but the site works are usually the shortest part. Design development, authority and landlord approvals, and procurement of long-lead items often take longer than construction itself, and fire-safety certification has to be completed before you can occupy. A small, simple office might move from design to handover in a few months; a large multi-floor fit-out with heavy M&E changes takes considerably longer. Ask your contractor for a baseline programme built on your building's actual rules.

The fuller picture
A Singapore office or retail fit-out runs through design, authority approvals, landlord submissions, procurement of long-lead items, site works, testing and commissioning, fire-safety certification and handover. Delays usually come from approvals, late design changes, long-lead M&E items, landlord working-hour limits and coordination. Early landlord submissions, early procurement and a baseline critical-path programme tracked weekly are the main defences.
